Nine months aligned

It’s been many months since my last update. Let me tell you what happened.

The proposition was simple: I am deeply engaged in exploring artificial intelligence as a tool for filmmaking, in depth and removed from commercial pursuit. So I took you on a wild, open-source journey — emails every now and then, capturing the chaotic path of trying to do something fresh.

I had to stop.

After graduation I needed to think bills, rent, groceries.

In my second year of uni I was learning how to code. In love with chess and abstract strategy, I stumbled onto an underutilised game mechanic I saw great potential in, as in essence it represented the human condition.

So I spent the last nine months turning that game mechanic into a proper project behind the scenes: design, IP, production, distribution, structure.

What started as a curated experience for my friends is now in the final stages of becoming a public engine.

Where does this leave my films, my path, the reason we talked?

All roads point to something much more intimate. I never stopped practicing my pen, and through enough repetition, the ghosts I have tried to conjure for seven years finally emerge from ink and paper.

My questions have been answered, the ritual complete — there is nothing more to tell.

Game development started as an app, but after graduation I was so tired of looking at a screen that I continued my work outside of the digital realm, with some regular playing cards and whatever else I had laying around at home.

This is where I reached perfection, in the park, with my partner. Here is where I discovered PAUSO.

PAUSO is a moshpit for minds. A card game where you build, push, and cause chaos, all captured in a compact box.

The fun PAUSO brought to nights spent with loved ones excites me — to the point where I decided to pursue it full time.

Nine months after entering and leaving the centralised dystopia of Saint Martin, I feel aligned. And I want to keep writing.

It’s been a pleasure sharing my journey. Let’s keep this conversation going.

The card game version of PAUSO will be available soon.

Until next time.
